Curb Hunger aims to utilise the the latest vending hardware and next generation technology to help tackle the issue of homelessness not only in the UK, but around the world. Our machines will be equipped with facial recognition software, artificial intelligence and an interactive display allowing people to vend for much needed items, and also engage with the local support centres or ask for help 24/7.
This display will also give passers-by the opportunity to learn about our mission and get involved. Our machines will double as contactless donation points where people can easily donate £2 using their contactless card or phone.
Each user is permitted three free items a day, with women given access to a fourth item once a month to cover basic hygiene needs. Each account is reset every 24 hours to allow access to the following day’s three vends. The account then recharges for the following week after their visit to the local partner organisation.
We aim for our machines to be fitted with contactless donation software so passers-by can tap their contactless card or phone to easily donate £2.
We aim to be a local charity operating on an international level. In the near future we will put as many state-of-the-art machines in as many key locations across the UK as possible, before targeting the rest of Europe and beyond!
We will continue to grow our network of partner charities in each locality, and work in concert with the great efforts of the many existing organisations, towards putting an end to homelessness.
We rely heavily on the generous donations of organisations and businesses for the following items:
